Ron, grouping items in webpages allows you to read large bodys of
information at once rather then moveing line by line. also, I have found it
to help when dealing with information rendered in a table type of format.
Example: when I read e-mail on the web I can move to the word subject and
actually move down through the subject titles and then when I find one I
want move through the columns such as date sent, time, body of message.
It's one of those options that pleases some of the people some of the time
and not all of the people all of the time. I would say review a web page in
both ways and pick which suits you best. you might find that it's helpful in
some pages and a total anoyance on others.

Hey Keith,
Perhaps, if it wouldn't be too much trouble, you could give me a rundown
on how you have Shiiara configured to work best with VO?
I do have that checkbox checked in the VO utility, but Shiira doesn't
seem to behave like Safari - that is, speak the first thing that the VO
cursor lands on when the new web page loads.
Also, what is the advantage to grouping itens in a web page, as opposed
to not doing that? I currently don't do that, but that document, "Using
Mac Apps with VoiceOver", seemed to suggest setting VO up that way.
If anyone else wants to chime in, with suggestions as to optimizing
Shiiara to work best with VO, please do! Shiira is faster, and does seem
to be "busy" a lot less than Safari, and those things, alone, make it
worth using more often!
Again, thanks!
Ron

Ron,
I am having no trouble with Voiceover cursor moving to a newly loaded
webpage with Shiira.
Make sure that you have Voiceover cursor moves to newly loaded webpage
checked in the navagation tab in the Voiceover, pannel,
control-option-f8.
And remember Shiira uses tabs to a greater extent than Safari does.
Maybe this will be of some help.
