Could you please do a step-by-step text guide for this?
Thanks.

Hi
I'm not sure about Tables in word files, I've had some I could read and
some I couldn't. But I've had the same thing on Windows as well.
Regarding a spreadsheet, there is a fully accessible one called Tables.
That's what another lister meant when they said tables is an app, that's
what the spreadsheet is called, and it's compatible with Excel.
For OCR, I use a combination of both VueScan and Read Iris. VueScan's OCR
isn't that great, but IRIS's engine is. However, the scanning
capabilities of Read Iris are limited, to say the least. I use them
together, I have VueScan set up to do the scanning and then it sends the
image into Read Iris to be OCRed. Note that Read Iris itself is fully
accessible. However, some scanner drivers are not, and Read Iris requires
you to use the Twain source dialogs of your scanner rather than doing the
scanning itself. This is exactly where Vuescan comes in, it is also fully
accessible and will scan the image. I should probably do a demo of this,
but I'm not in an environment that's really suitable for recording.

Hi,
I am a new comer to this list. I am strongly tempted to purchase a mac
and use it with voice over, having tried my sister's macbook
extensively. I need it for my university work, so here I am asking for a
suggestion on what are the best programs for the following things, along
with some comments of mine.
Word processing: I've tried openoffice but it doesn't seem convinging,
one edit box for every line of text is not practical for me. Nisus
writer pro seems excellent, only if there was a way to read tables. I
hope there is, if someone has any info on the subject would be greatly
appreciated.
Spreadsheet: ...don't know anything about it
Ocr program: what's the best in your opinion between readiris and
vuescan?
The rest of the things I need, I can do them already well with the mac.
If someone can help me, would be greatly appreciated!
Tom
