Actually, this may apply to other dialogs also but I noticed a change
specifically in the save dialog when using text edit. First I noticed this
on Carla's machine and then discovered the same thing on mine and I'm
wondering if there's been a change I missed or if both Carla and I have
something set strangely on our computers.
Here's what happened before and what happens now:
What happened before:
In the save dialog with the disclosure checkbox checked, one could
interact with the file table, select the appropriate
folder (after of course setting the pop-up button to the desired area)
and, if using list mode, use right arrow to open the outline and select
the folder. One could then save to that directory. It was also possible to
do the same task by navigating in the browser table in column mode.
What is happening now:
With the disclosure checkbox checked and a selection made in the pop-up
menu, using list mode (haven't tried this differently yet in column mode),
I can get on the proper row of the table with the vo cursor for
selecting a folder but then have to do cmd-down-arrow to open it. Then if
I want a subfolder, I again can't just line up on it and stop interacting;
instead I have to do cmd-down-arrow to actually open that folder and then
save. Before I realized what was happening, files were being saved in a
folder one level above the folder where I actually wanted them.
Is this happening to others? Is this a known change? If so, it seems more
complicated to me. It also seems strange if this happened during an
upgrade as Carla, not having access to high speed internet very often,
doesn't have her machine updated completely and I do; I'm not sure how far
she is actually updated at this point. Btw I don't think this is at all
related to problems surrounding the safari 4 beta install as I'm pretty
sure Carla is still on safari 3. I appologize if this has already been
discussed but this list has gotten busy enough that I don't always read
posts that I don't think are discussing a problem I'm having and I'm not
sure what subject such a discussion would be under in the archives.
I know this is probably just some kind of change I missed but I'd
appreciate it if somebody could enlighten me on this matter.
Tia.
