Thanks so much for taking the time to answer. I would like to observe
here that I have "when screen attributes change," set to "play tone."
Since VO is *speaking*, and I hear no tone, I do not believe this
directly to be the problem; still, I have set it to "do nothing," just
to test your theory. I have also hanged the system voice from Alex to
Vicky. Now, of course, I don't have any windows open to test the
process, but...
