The mac comes with an application called Dashboard. You can show and hide the dashboard by pressing a key on your keyboard, and in the dashboard there are little applications called widgets, that you can use to do things fast. For example, there is a weather widget, a calculator, one that lets you access iCal (the calendar) functions quickly, one that lets you control iTunes, there is an ESPN one, a flight tracker...and thousands of others. They are generally accessible, and very helpful.

(was: Syncing contacts to the MAC.)Yes, once your contacts are in the addressbook they will sync to youriPhone. I used Missing Sync to sync my Sprint Mogul phone and then theiPhone synced using iTunes and my contacts were transfered. Also remember that using the business widget and choosing the "add to addressbook" link for things you look up is a great way to add to your addressbook and thesealso will of course sync to your iPhone the next time you sync. I justreally do wish the People widget would go back to being accessible.
