As a person paid to be an "expert," in access tehcnology, I find the
best way to learn VO and what I ultimately had to do was a near total
emersion in the environment. Ask lots of questions but also try to
keep notes about the answers people post and keep the VO, Mac OS and
application help files at your fingertips and use them as much as
possible.
The current sets of application and OS docs presume sighted users and
lots of mouse clicking. In more cases than not, though, you can find
a set of actions using VO that will solve your problem. Sometimes the
VO work around is non-obvious and that's where the people on this list
come in handy as their "tribal knowledge" often exceeds anything one
can divine from any official document.
I've been using Macintosh for over six months and still find myself
issuing a JAWS or orca command without thinking. Migration from one
screen reader to another is a lot of work but, as far as VO is
concerned, it's well worth the effort.
Happy Hacking,

That's because it works pretty much as any other accessible app...
If you know how to use VO proficiently you know how to use Pages
well... Not that I do, but I'm trying...!

The problem with Pages etc. that I have noticed is there is no
website or document that I know of that tells users of VO how to
operate the thing. I have the Pages manual but as far as I have
seen, it's all about clicking with the mouse, which is logical for
the majority of people in the world I guess, but since Apple went
to all the trouble of making it accessible, you'd think there'd be
some sort of documentation or are we supposed to just fumble
through it like blind people?
Sorry for the harsh tone but I just don't understand why there is
so little info. Please tell me I am just missing it and that it
really exists on a website somewhere.
