Hi Doug.

You can't turn off attribute indication but you can uncheck the checkbox for using dots 7 and 8 to indicate the cursor. Having it turned on does two things. 1 shows the text displayed in the vo cursor and 2 shows the insertion point when in an edittable area. If you use contracted braille and uncheck the above mentioned checkbox, youshould not see any attributes. the checkbox for using contracted braille (unchecked by default) is right next to the cursor checkbox in vo utility, braille, layout. "newline" is a punctuation symbol, try setting punctuation to a lower setting. this can be done in two ways, press vo keys with the letter v and right or left arrow to punctuation, increase with up arrow, decrease with down arrow. if this doesn't work, try setting verbosity to medium, it's high by default.
