hey Donna, I am glad you joined in the fun!You know what too, I have been thinking and the cool thing is that we can have a mac with Alex and a windows running at the same time with Jaws that way is not so difficult to go through the transition.

Hi all, My name is Donna Goodin and I, too, am new to this list. (Hi Rachel!) Idon't yet have a Mac, but am intrigued by the possibility. I've been a JAWS user for nearly 20 years, so am likely to be cautious about switching to theMAC OS, but am curious and want to learn more. Cheers, Donna-----Original Message----- From: macvoiceover-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:macvoiceover- bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of David Poehlman Sent: Wednesday, June 11, 2008 6:25 PM To: macvoiceover@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [macvoiceover] Re: New member Hi Rachel, The command keys are on either side of the space bar. to the right of th right command key is the "enter" key which cannot be used as a "return key". To theleft of the left command key is option and then control and then the fn key. To start the tutorial, press control-option-shift-f8. I'm glad you are enjoying your Mac and please don't hesitate to help and tell us more about yourself. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rachel Magario" <magario@xxxxxxxxx> To: <macvoiceover@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, June 11, 2008 5:58 PM Subject: [macvoiceover] New member Hello everyone, My name is Rachel and I am new to this list. I just got an macbook pro 2 days ago and I have not been able to do more than just turning the voiceover on and off! I am really excited and I saw there is a page of resources I am going to go check it out soon. But if anyone can help me out I would love it! I tried the command option control f8 for the built-in tutorial but it did not work. I am thinking I am not really aware of each keys are which. I thought the command keys are what in a PC would be the alt key right? Then the option key is to the right to the command key and next to the command and the control space bar, right in both sides? I have 2 keys to the right of my space bar and 4 to the left. I don't have a none pad of course. If anyone could enlighten me about the key board I would greatly appreciate it! I am so thankful this list exists! Thanks Shane for giving me the help to subscribe and to get Vo going! Rachel. Don't find fault, find a remedy. Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.
