I don't need a spreadsheet but a good word processor that reads all the formatting info, lets me change fonts, lets me double space, lets me insert page breaks without fussing with menus, and doesn't make me convert to another format to use in a different program to fix formatting. Remember when you transfer documents from one program to another that formatting gets changed or messed. For goodness sake I can't even tell if text is indented. I'm sticking with Windows for now. If anybody feels like toughing it out until Apple fixes the problems with word processing, that's ok, but for me I am not going to waste my time fighting with VO while trying to write a twelve page essay. smile

In Snow Leopard, Numbers works beautifully. I now use it for all my spreadsheets.Take Care John Panarese On Sep 8, 2009, at 8:21 AM, Russell Solowoniuk wrote:It works "somewhat" with iWorks. At least in Leopard, the spreadsheet app, Numbers, is not what I'd call accessible. The spreadsheet app in Open Office, however, does seem to be accessible.Russell On 8-Sep-09, at 4:05 AM, David Poehlman wrote:it does not work with microsoft office, but it does work with iwork and open office and a couple of other mac suites. As for how functional it is, it's good enough for this former 15 year jaws user to be using it every day now for almost 5 years for all of his formerly jaws tasks. On Sep 7, 2009, at 9:28 PM, Jeff Kisecker wrote:I am looking at purchasing a Mac, I have been a windows and jaws user for years. I've downloaded teh NW beta for SL adn I was really happy to see that it works pretty well with SL. Attributes and font announcements work fine. And I was really happy to see that page numbers are also working great too. It will say "page 4", Page 5" as the cursor goes from page to page. If you go through the document quickly in page view, you hear page 1, page 2, etc as you hit the arrow keys. Then I think you can go to draft on the particular page you want and interact with it. The interact part is a little tricky because I just haven't figured it out completely. but I will play with it more later. Just a preliminary reprot and I am very pleased. For any of you looking for a medical speller, I've found one that works, Inductel. They just updated it in May of this year, so it should be pretty up to date. I also like Typinator which I think will do fine for storing and quickly typing addresses, although I have not tried it with SL yet.
