it does not work with microsoft office, but it does work with iwork
and open office and a couple of other mac suites.
As for how functional it is, it's good enough for this former 15
year jaws user to be using it every day now for almost 5 years for
all of his formerly jaws tasks.

This is a start, but you gotta start somewhere. I will be a grad
student
come October.

Hi everybody. I have some very good news to report about SL and
Nisus
Writer.
I've downloaded teh NW beta for SL adn I was really happy to see that
it works pretty well with SL. Attributes and font announcements work
fine. And I was really happy to see that page numbers are also
working
great too. It will say "page 4", Page 5" as the cursor goes from page
to page.
If you go through the document quickly in page view, you hear page 1,
page 2, etc as you hit the arrow keys. Then I think you can go to
draft on the particular page you want and interact with it. The
interact part is a little tricky because I just haven't figured it
out
completely. but I will play with it more later.
Just a preliminary reprot and I am very pleased.
For any of you looking for a medical speller, I've found one that
works, Inductel. They just updated it in May of this year, so it
should be pretty up to date. I also like Typinator which I think
will
do fine for storing and quickly typing addresses, although I have not
tried it with SL yet.
