is it an IBook or an MacBook? What version of the operating system do you
have running on it if it is an IBook?
I don't recall vo just turning off and not back on.

Subject: [macvoiceover] New User
Hi there,
I've finally decided to take the plunge and make the transition from a PC to
a Mac, and just bought one of the new 13 inch Ibooks.
I'm not really one to start by consuming manuals whole, and jumped right in
with both feet. Probably as a result, I'm getting sporadic speech from
VoiceOver, that is, its shutting off and not restarting. I don't believe
I've been doing anything too taxing to the system, just arrowing through
menus and exploring, but it's happened quite a number of times already.
Turning to the onboard help hasn't gotten me anywhere with this problem, and
the ones I find on the web, list commands that don't work on my Ibook
(command f5 turns Voiceover on for example).
Anyone who can point me to some answers, either by sending me the url to a
decent/updated users guide, or by telling me that VoiceOver is junk and to
go back to my PC and Jaws, would be helping me out a tonne.
thanks,
Garret
