Is VoiceOVer active? YOu start VoiceVoer with the command-f5 (command
is next to the spacebar) hold down the command and then press the F5
key.

The very first thing you should do is to work through the VoiceOver
tutorial several times to bring up the tutorial press the control-
option-command and the F8 key. That would be the three keys to the
left of the spacebar and the F8 key. The F-keys are at the top or
your
keyboard remember that the left most key on the top row is the escape
key so F1 is the second key on that row.

G'day people.
My name is Col Shawcross, I'm from Australia, and have been watching
this
list for a little while now.
I received my new IMac today, and am having problems accessing the
menus
etc. as described in the voiceover manuals from "Icanworkthisthing".
I have absolutely no idea what I am doing wrong.
looking for some simple advice.
the computer came with MAC Leopard installed.
I seemed to have worked through the welcome screen OK. but have no
idea what
is happening now.
when I press VO keys f8. for example to open the utilities menu
nothing
happens.
likewise with other option keys.
voiceover seems to be working at all times, so I must have that
right.
hope to hear from you with good advice.
