I'd encourage you to download the getting started manual asap since much of
what you will need is contained there-in. although the vo help and the mac
help and the quickstrt are nice, the manual is well written and even has
exercises.

HI all. Well, the fedex guy is coming today with my new macbook. Can't
wait to start playing.

I am a fairly experienced linux and windows user but know basically nothing
about os 10.x

I think this system will come with leopard installed although I might have
to upgrade from tiger.

Me thinks the computer will start with a voice over tutorial option when I
first boot up. I hope so cause that will give me the basics of getting
around and then I can explore some once I know some of the basic commands.
I will probably attempt to install windows in a virtual machine so I can get
work done until I get good at this mac stuff but I am excited to learn.
someone sent me a link to a daisy file of the vo manual so I will use that
to try and get started.

Btw. does the mac come with a hard drive backup program. I use image for
windows and linux to backup the other operating systems to dvds incase of a
system failure. Would like to do something similar for a mac before I play
with something and break it.

BRian.
