Hi there.
I'd be interested in it if it does anything useful but it sounds like eye-candy. 
Thanks and it's nice to know I didn't do anything to my computer.

F12 opens the dash board when using the Mac. The dashboard contains "widgets," which are applications you can run from the dashboard. Let me know if you want more help with this, but to get rid of it simply press F12 again and it will make the strange squeaky sound again and you're back where you were.
