I have to say as a mac user for 6 months now I had no idea what the dash board was for or anything. wow, love it. the translation thing, dictionary and weather are great!

Oh, it's quite useful, not eye candy at all. For example, if you hit F12 and then hit VO F2 twice quick, you'll get a menu of all the different widgets you can call up with Dashboard. Google is there, and weather, and dictionary, and a bunch of really useful applications.
