As regards spammers, one cool thing that I've started to do is "bounce," messages back. This is a Mac feature and if you press VO shift M when in the preview pain, messages table, on the message you wish to bounce. Then simply hit enter twice. Done. It *MAY* help spammers get the message, but maybe not.
