While I agree that it's not for professional work, quicktime pro works just fine for those little editing jobs (removing repeat passages, cutting out that door slam between paragraphs, what have you). It's not as robust as it probably could be, but it works for little things, and is 100 percent accessible. I strongly urge those who have need of such things to go ahead and pay apple the 30 bucks needed to get a pro license for quicktime. It also allows conversion between formats. This is something I was doing with command-line tools (before itunes became usable) but quicktime is just more convinient for this, since it makes it so darned simple to select what you want, then save it. Like I said, for professional type editing, it won't help a whole lot, but it works well for light to moderate work.
