Well, most of the time I have available for development I have to terminal
in to my Mac from a PC (just the way it is with my work situation), so I
need an editor that I can work this way and when I'm actually local on the
Mac.

If you use emacs, you will be in terminal, which is problematic with vo,
but it sort of works.
