this is not a vo issue.

1. Press vo m. This lands you first on the Apple menu.

The Skype thing is certainly a mystery, but hopefully this will at

I don't know much but there is a mute speech button in the voice
utilities menu under speech options. If the voice is muted you may
need sighted help unless you know what the hot key might be to toggle
it on and off. I'm sure there is one for this very situation, but I
wouldn't have a clue as to what it is.

sounds work, like the email alerts but none of the others. like
syrinx alert sounds, voice over, and the skype call got muted. I
