[macvoiceover] Installing VueScan update?

Hi everyone,
I just downloaded the latest update to VueScan, version 8.5, I think.
I have the previous version installed and wonder how to go about
installing this new version? Do I need to first uninstall the
previous version? If I do, how do I do this? Still new to the way
things are done on the Mac! <grin>
