Cheryl, Your points are well taken, and it's for the reasons you mentioned that I have decided to wait, although my wife is looking into one for me. I already have a phone with a data plan from AT&T and I don't really need another phone. I can't justify the need for one at the moment, except it is a way to cut down on space, which I don't have much of in my mobile home. And by the time I do decide on the features and accessories I want, it will probably run me in the neighborhood of over $500, and I don't have that kind of money at the moment. As of now, I'm thinking that by the time I put out the money for the 3G model and accessories and pay for a data plan, I'm approaching the cost of a low-end Mac laptop anyway. As exciting as I find the idea of an iPad, I can't really find one really convincing reason why I should buy one at the moment, other than the fact that I want one--*grin*!!! So I think I'll wait and see if others' usage of the iPad shows me a good reason for buying one or not.
To those who are buying: have fun!!!! Be sure to report your experiences.
