The only thing you can use with bluetooth on the iphone is audio at present and the ipod touch has no bluetooth at all.

Would a standard, bluetooth GPS receiver do the trick?

And if anyone knows an app available in South African app store, please let me know.

Navigon is available, though I like to stake out my options.

$79 in rand is no small amount of money. $1 = round about R7.50

Hi David, the App on the IPhone you are referring to is it the one they call Maps? Seems its also available on the IPod Touch, but it uses available wi-fi networks to determine your location, so if your not near one ... You can purchase a GPS Receiver (somewhat pricey), and with an accessible app, might be what I'm looking for. I primarily want it so I can do the navigating while my wife does the driving.

The Iphone has great accessible gps built-in but it is not as blindness oriented as mobile geo or some of the other products especially built for the blind. You can though turn on location services and when you are moving, plot where you are and also get directions to a place and get a list of things near by. There is an app called around me which is pretty good and you can download it from the ap store.

Hi List, I'm just wondering if there are any accessible GPS solutions for any of the portable Apple devices? I've seen add-on devices for the IPhone, and the IPod Touch, but nothing to indicate whether or not they're accessible.
