perhaps, to give a alternative for the recurcive playing:
you can make aliases of all songs in the directorystructure and place them
in the same folder.
This should only work if the aliases should point to a absoluut path in
stead of a relative path.
It's just a try , I don't know if this make sence.
It's based on my linux-experiences.
best regard,
William

Hi all,
I wanted to get this to those who raised the issue of ITunes I think it
was
on this list. Thanks to Tim for providing it.
As a matter of interest, you could use Quick Look to simply play music
without importing. Just open the folder, press cmd-a to Select All
the songs, then press space-bar to open Quick Look. You will be
presented with a dialog where you can press the "Start Slide Show"
button to start playing the songs without import. Use the arrow keys
to go to next and previous songs. The only limitation here is that
the songs cannot be organized within folders within the parent folder
as Quick Look will simply open the folder instead of playing the song.
HTH.
