David,
I just tried it, and I've discovered that you not only need to
interact with the group, but then you need to interact with the text
in order to use VO-select. I tried it on a wikipedia page, and
discovered that you need to interact with each individual item in a
group - blocks of text, links, etc. Unfortunately, just interacting
with the group, and it's text, isn't enough, but it does work.
I never even realized this command existed until you brought it up!
Thanks!
Regards,
Ron

HI David,
I've discovered that VO Select (VO-Return), doesn't work if you're in
Group Navigation mode - only in Dom Navigation mode. Another thing
which can be done, in addition to what you've mentioned, is to get the
text from a web page, using Automator. Again, it is necessary to edit
out unneeded stuff with this method. I have a copy of this workflow
if you, or anyone else on the list, wants it.
Also, David, or anyone else, if you wish to chat with me, off list,
my Skype Name is: Ganahee, and I can be reached at: Ganahee@xxxxxxxxxx
HTH?

you can select all and copy it to the clipboard and then to text

and edit out what you do n't want or you can use the vo select which
is
vo-enter. interact with the text you want to copy and press vo-
enter to
turn on vo select and when you are done selecting, press vo-enter to
turn it
off and then copy.

Subject: [macvoiceover] Copying text from Safari
Hi All,
Anyone got any tips on copying text from Safari to Textedit? I've
been using V O Shift C to copy the last spoken item, but could do
with
more choice over what is copied.
Regards.
Ian
