thanks for the help. From what everyone has said so far. copying text using 4.01 IPhone IOS is painful. I don't know why they didn't introduce a selection mode. You go and select the text you want. Exit the mode and then you can copy or cut the text.
Go to where you want and then paste it. This pinch approach is very hit and miss. I have been trying to do it on the IPhone 4 and still haven't successfully done it. I will keep trying.
