[macvoiceover] Re: Apple keyboard with numPad

You know, I keep forgetting the lock and it always comes in handy somewhere.

this is where vo lock comes in handy, press vo-semi colon, tap d if you must and then press semi colon.

I use numpad commander but understand why one may find it cumbersome - primarily because one needs to remove his hands from home row.

The one thing I don't like about the iMac BT keyboard is that one can only do VO Key on the left side of the kb and items like VO+D become really annoying as one needs to cross their hands almost.

You personally find the num pad commandor cumbersome? But using num pad commandor means less keystrokes? Doesn't less keystrokes equall easier? Which equals better? I personally find the numpad commander to be cumbersome but then I used a mac for years with vo without it.

Great! Thanks for that. I won't even ask about assigning keystrokes yet... lot's to learn before I get to that point! <smile>

Well, that is a matter of opinion. I prefer my keyboard with the numeric keypad, as you can use it to assign VoiceOver commands to it. It simplifies keystrokes and has made use even easier for me.

Hi again,

Another question before I get to the Mac store. The iMac comes with a keyboard that doesn't include a numPad. They had one keyboard left in the store last week that has the numPad included. Is it of any benefit to get a keyboard with a numPad when it comes to using VO keystrokes?

Thanks,

Russell
