yep, def a bug. although, can't remember how it was in leopard but its putting points where there shouldn't be. whoops.

Just type in an IP address. Perhaps any IP address, but for argument's sake, type into any editable area: 
192.168.1.1
At least on my machine, it doesn't read back anything close to correctly, unless you go through it character by character.
