Hi all, many thanks for answering my questions.
Tell me if I'm wrong but I would like to kill this topic now as my question has been answered. If people are talking about storage can I suggest that the subject line be changed to reflect what we all are talking about. I am not trying to be bossie or a moderator, but just trying to stay on topic.

Thanks again to you all!

Daniel

Agree there is nothing wrong with it. Just think for now poor people don't
use it for storage in the size she is talking about because of the expense!
Now maybe when it comes down in price some. As of now I think most poor
people get it for their OS and applications and start from here with
something affordable. JMT

Lol you do these days.

The other thing I'd point out is all the people who have been using flash
storage on their i devices for the last few years. Have you noticed anything wrong with their storage? My iphone 3gs has continued to work just fine even
though it is flash.

Well, understand you don't buy a 500 gb SSD for a computer! You buy
something like a 128 gb or possible 256 gb SSD for your OS and
applications and then you buy a 7200 internal or external drive for
your other files. The advantage of a SSD is the quick start up time
and the quick startup time of the application. :You are not going to
notice the difference in pulling files off of a slower drive unless
you have huge size pictures and videos on it pulling from it. It don't
take that much power to pull a podcast or music file or word processer
file from another drive. JST

Because I trust my drives taht make noise. I can listen to them wiht a
coil and amp and know if they are broken. and again 1000 dollars for a
500 gig drive? I'll wait.

No, you cannot put one in the Mac book air and why would you want to?
That would be like taking a BMW and turning it into a Volkswagen !

Yeah! Um? No! I'm waiting for prices to fall. I can get a 500 gig
regular drive for probably 100 or so. and if that can be put in to
the air I might go with it. Or I might just stick wiht a mini and use
my phone as a note taker.

I still want a mack book pro as I don't trust solid state drives.
All they are are huge fjash drives that are waiting to die a violent
death. and I want a 500 gig ssd drive and I won't be able to get
that in
an air.

Take care.

There is no real market need for the Mac Book. The Mac Book Air

were updated significantly in July with processor and memory and

necessary. There really would be no category between the Mac Book
Air and
the Mac Book Pro.
You can get an Air for the same price as the old Mac Book, and it's
a much better system now. Mike's podcast was prior to Apple's
complete overhaul of the Mac Book Air at the same time Lion was
released.

Hi all, as I'm not really up on the Mac history it still struck me
that
why they should discontinue the Mac Book all together.
I red or heard somewhere that it was to be replaced by the Mac
Book Air
and from what I understand you don't get alot of memory on that
merchine.
Mike Arrigo says on a podcast of his that it is 64GB which is not
alot. Im comparison I wonder how much the Mac book had before apple
discontinued it.
But before I stray off the line my question was why do you and
everyone
hear I invite people to make there own theories and ideas that apple
decided to stop the mac book line. Because as a consumer that was
going to be the Mac that I would buy but since that's no longer
around then I would proably go for the Mac Book Pro option.

Thanks

Daniel
