[mac4theblind] Re: thunderbolt

    At this point, it's all very early.  The move away from physical media will 
not be an overnight thing.  You can still purchase an external DVD drive, and 
if you have a computer with a drive, it can be shared and used by, for example, 
a Mac Mini or Mac Book Air.  I've done this a few times to install iWorks and 
iLife.

    As for Thunderbolt, as long as systems have USB, there will still be 
adaptors and such made.  Everything comes and goes, so, again, it won't be a 
quick transition.  Remember what David pointed out about floppy drives.  People 
adjusted to the move from that.  I think my PC tower from four or five years 
ago might have been among the last systems to include a floppy drive.
