No you did not read the rest of ht emessage. they say
Hi, you can use the ncurses or the console interface : vlc -I ncurses
If you need the gui, run vlc from a terminal and go to "vue -> add interface ->
console" , then type "help" in the terminal to see commands .
so how do I run vlc from the terminal to get this gui they are talking about?
