[mac4theblind] Re: It would be nice to have Alex on IOS devices. Does anyone know why Apple hasn't done this yet?

none of this stuff in chimes or the other sounds apps is integrated. I do know
that the voices in some of the reading programs you have to buy but then you
use them and they are integrated. Alex has disadvantages where small speakers
are concerned.

Yep. Just as I thought. the chimes program sounds good and I'm now trying to
use it. but at 7 mb big the voice of alex was recorded from there mac using
the iTunes workflow or the say command and converted to m4a speech which is
mono I think 32kbps. and the speech is not fast enough for me. I listen at
about 250 to 300 words per minute. I cannot listen any slower. it drives me
nuts. That's why I know the alex voices are not exactly fake but not integrated
in to the program. either.
