Unless it has changed it was accessible on the IOS as I have it on it. I did
take it off because I did not like the having to sync with the Firefox sync
thing. But the browser work just fine. Now it might have changed . But if
they are taking the approach that the screen reader need to be made to work
with the app then it will never happen as Apple believes the app should be
made to work with the screen reader and this is the best approach. If all
programs and application had to be made to work with screen readers we would
not have accessibility problems. That is the problem the most part
applications and programs on windows side think it is the screen reader
company or the blind responabilty to make the Windows programs and
application accessible and this is so wrong. That is why none of MS office
would be accessible to windows user if screen readers companies did not make
it accessible. You see it should be the other way around MS should make
office accessible to the screen readers, both on the windows side and Apple
side. If they did this and other application and program makers did this we
would not have to pay the ridiculous price for screen readers. JMT

They were long and painfully specific on their blog they had conversations
with apple in which they basically said that apple's api accessibility api
needed to be re-written to work with firefox instead of adapting ff to work
with vo. I might be able to dig up the blog. Also, it is not accessible on
ios either.

Now that don't make no sense as Firefox has a app for the iPhone, ipad and
iPod! They had to follow guidelines there so someone sounds like they don't
know what they are talking about.

I had a long talk with a firefox accessibility specialist and to make it
short, he said that in order for firefox to be accessibility that appl would
have to adopt firefox way or the highway. In other words, mozilla was not
going to follow apple guidelines for accessible apis.

They claim they are going to make Firefox accessible with VoiceOver. At
least, there were some people who had a very productive dialog going with
the developers. I really don't know the status of those talks, however.

As a related note, Omniweb works fairly well with VoiceOver. It has a
different interface and there are some unlabeled buttons in a few places.
Also, preferences doesn't seem to be completely accessible. However, if you
want a backup to Safari and you're willing to take the time to play with it,
it is another web alternative. It is fast and I have yet to encounter any
busy signals. If you use the Blind Micemart site for DVS audio, it also
works with the site.

Does anyone know for sure how well Opera and Chrome stand with VoiceOver?
Last I heard, they were both close, but table navigation and a few other
things were not working.
