[mac4theblind] External Hard Drive

Hi
I bought an external hard drive about 6 weeks ago to back up my MacBook. I've
never backed up my computers to a hard disk. Just used CD's on my Windows
machine. Hard disks seems much easier with Time Machine. Should I leave the
disk connected to my Mac all the time or pick a weekly time and date to connect
it? Also, are there any settings on Time Machine I should adjust or leave them
be? I feel much better getting the external hard drive instead of using CD's.
Should have done it way earlier.
