well, you may have another problem. when I tab through my window, I have two
columns, mailboxes and messages just like good old outlook express <giggle>

you can bos mail around in mail preferences, with mail open, press
command-coma and go through the preferences. I think classic view is what
you want and you can tell mail not to show any of the message but to do this
you have to close the preview payne.
