I was able to get away to Thistlethwaite today from 2:00-3:30. Not a lot of
nectar sources although the blackberries are blooming. I went to the back, to
the slough area, hoping to find Falcate OTs, but w/o success. The roadsides
have recently been cut so there was little activity along the road. 10 species.
1 E. Tiger ST
1 Red-bannded HS
10+ Pearl Cres
10+ Question Marks, all the winter form, bright orange w/ purple spots dorsally
1 So. Pearly-eye
! Gemmed Satyr
20+ (abundant) Caro. Satyrs
8 Little Wood Satyrs
1 Clouded Sk
8 Lace-winged Roadside Sks
The skies clouded up heavily and the wind picked up by 3:30 so I shut it down.
If the sun is shining tomorrow, I'm heading to Indian Bayou, again looking for
Falcate OTs.
