I'm going to tell you why I love life so much.
I was baby-sitting my 30 month old granddaughter Niamh tonight. She's going
through an eczema stage that keeps her awake much longer at bed time than
usual. So I was having to lay much longer than usual in bed with her rubbing
her legs until I thought she was alseep. But three times I had to come back
and soothe her itching again. Evidently I just didn't know the trick. Her mom
and dad returned home and Niamh told me, "You have to leave now, Adam needs
you." Adam is my 32 year old son. Niamh is not even 3 yet, but those were her
exact words, I swear. She must have been trying to protect my feelings, dear,
dear child. I haven't stopped laughing.
Isn't it astonishing how horrendously cruel and evil human creatures can be,
but also how inexpressibly wondrous! God, I love us.
