But so was living with a nuclear armed Stalin and Mao. I'm not saying that it's comfortable. But MAD worked once. Why shouldn't it work again? But I do see what you are saying. With religious zealots on both sides and no shortage of frightened warmongers to cheer them on, the chances of a very great evil are rising. When the trains have collided, perhaps those who survive the wreck will have learned something.
