What a wonderful thing it would be if the Democratic Party let you write its platform for the next Presidential election. We should call it the War against Islamism. And Lawrence wants to know: Where do you stand? With us or them? Lawrence, you're like one of those Japanese soldiers who comes out of the jungle, still fighting WWII. There's no more USA like what you knew when you were a kid. You haven't let go of that worldview. There is no national economy anymore. The economy has been globalized. The computerized digital global information network has freed capital from local presence. Capital now moves to wherever there is an investment opportunity, managed by experts. Multinationals have no national identify. Ford Motor Company, IBM, etc. aren't "American" companies in any sense of the word. Local patriotism is not relevant anymore. Us vs Them? It's we. All of us, we, on one planet. You keep fighting for a worldview from 50 years ago; that's kinda quaint. But nobody cares. We're all doing something else, and you just don't want to understand it. yrs, andreas www.andreas.com ------------------------------------------------------------------ To change your Lit-Ideas settings (subscribe/unsub, vacation on/off, digest on/off), visit www.andreas.com/faq-lit-ideas.html ------------------------------------------------------------------ To change your Lit-Ideas settings (subscribe/unsub, vacation on/off, digest on/off), visit www.andreas.com/faq-lit-ideas.html
