Yes, you should try hard and come  up with another verb. 

Recall that was precisely Chomsky's point.
 
"Grice has used the verb 'know' in such a way, that I am forced NOT to use  
it."

Instead, in the John Locke lectures, at Oxford -- where he criticised  Grice
for half an hour in the 3rd one -- he proposes
 
'cognise'
 
I cognise  ------------   We cognise
You cognise  -------   Ye cognise
He, She, It, cognises -- They cognise.
 
Grice commented, "Chomsky's attempt was futile".
