Just a few brief remarks:

1. Verily, there is neither cure nor truth at the bottom of a bottle (damn!)
2. In Canada, we don't say "echt," - we say "eh".
3. Sport is not discourse, for while the latter seeks a norm in the equal
interest of all interlocutors, sport requires a winner and a loser. So Habermas
offers me no solace in hy dark hours. (I think I have a pretty good idea whom
Juergen will be rooting for on Sunday. Hopefully, Germans understand
electricity better than the Swiss.)
4. Ever wonder how the Soviet national anthem ever made it back into Russia?
Ever wonder what makes a piece of music so hauntingly beautiful? Ever wonder
what happened to Andy Rooney?

Enough! For there must be bratwurst and beer for all.

Happy Canada Day to one and all. (No, I don't know what it means.)

Walter O.
