That's the E.E.C. for you. In days of yore the Sceptered Isle's soil
was sacred, defended by moats of Englishpersons' spilled blood, also
virulent rumors about horrible food. Now they let any old bod dig
away to his heart's content, even one with a shovel inscribed in
foreign. What *is* the world coming to? Next thing you know they'll
be letting foreigners play football.
