Thanks, Donal. It was the lactate that particularly interested me. Will 
search in The Lancet. Panic disorder is considered one of those neurological 
wiring issues--as well as learned behavior that's has some genetic 
component. In short, think of a cause, any cause, and it's probably been 
"substantiated" for panic disorder--just toss it into the pot with the rest.

A difference in blood chemistry in people with panic disorder, though, is a 
new one on me. Wonder if there are dietary studies. Or any correlation with 
lactose intolerance.  Hmmm...mulling aloud.

Better get your friend out of that padded cell, pronto. If he wasn't already 
agoraphobic, with a hefty dose of claustrophobia (paradoxical but true), a 
few hours in that room and he'll be a noodle. Oh yeah. Meds. He's a nearly 
comatose noodle. Go steal those books, would you?
