Maybe it's worth examining the notion that if modern Liberals are not 
the Liberals of Truman's time, the modern Republicans are not the 
Republicans of Eisenhower's time.

I had read that, by modern standards, Eisenhower could be considered a 
Liberal; as could Bob Dole of the 1970s, whose voting record then would 
seem Liberal today.

So to try to evaluate media in respect to politicians, while politicians 
have been trending further and further to the right, does seem a little 
disingenuous to say the least. None of these labels represents absolute 
positions, so it seems that all the bias-tracking does is to evaluate 
the evolution of words.
