by the emotions of fear and pseudo-patriotism than
by the emotions that
produce pacifism?
Julie, the numbers in the polls on Iraq were
around 50-50, probably now tilting significantly
toward the pacifist.
Plus it's an image thing. Warmonger identifies
with movie action heroes. Pacifist thinks he's
John Lennon or on the bus with Kesey. Both are
forms of emotional manipulation, where people buy
into images of themselves they find attractive.
