The Grand Design was made by Chevrolet.

Here you have my full agreement (although I would perhaps replace the word 'made' with 'achieved'). The year was 1957.

The degeneration since then has been terrible - GM's (fiscal) bankruptcy comes as no surprise to those of us who have been forced to watch how aesthetic sensibilities were trampled under in the years subsequent to this acme.

It was replaced by the Mini Mouse subcompact, which runs on bird seed.

I remember a friend of mine who owned an early Honda automobile. This was the at the time when there was only one model and it seemed only to come in yellow - which she remarked was fitting, since in Japanese 'Honda' means 'little yellow duck'.

She was (and may well still be, for all I know - it has been decades) one of those persons capable of the utmost sincerity of expression, regardless of what she was uttering - and so for a moment I actually believed her.

Then came that unbelievable smile - and the oracle spoke its epiphany in gentle laughter....
