I'm glad you like it because, in that roundabout way of inspiration,
the poem began as a response to this; I heard "pissed" in the English
rather than the American sense:
God doesn't hear us, of course,
not through all those choruses
of singing angels,
He thinks we take for granted
dawn and all of that.
He's pissed.
It'll be a hot summer.
