>> Does it really matter if you have a tin ear? I mean does it really matter if you have a tin ear? If you're a musical performer it does. You might, if suddenly afflicted with loss of pitch, transpose what you are playing into the wrong key, setting the stage (again) for a harmonic train wreck when the piece you are playing transposes further, sending you whirling about the circle of fifths like a chimp clutching a ceiling fan, arousing discontent and malignancy from your audience, who rush outside for soft refuse or rotten produce to loft in your direction or improvise with material at hand, disconcerting you further, and inciting you to curse Franz Liszt for triggering the practice of playing without a musical score, evoking the petrific ghost of Liszt to appear on stage singing Mozart (in tune) and to drag you down into someplace like New Jersey only darker and smelling more like cheese. Accidents do happen. ------------------------------------------------------------------ To change your Lit-Ideas settings (subscribe/unsub, vacation on/off, digest on/off), visit www.andreas.com/faq-lit-ideas.html
