[lit-ideas] Re: Sunday Poems

Jesus wants us for a sundae.
He's promised whipped cream and machismo cherries.
He warns that,
at sixteen,
if you touch it,
you broke it;
the slightest crack,
you pay,
breed till the eggs give out.
For lagniappe, there's miracles,
beauty and history,
beads, transubstantiation,
holy dribbles on our babies,
wheat cakes with the flavor left out,
incense sniffles, cooking sherry.
Go Notre Dame.
We're all game.
