Some _should_ rewrite this thread as "Cleopatra's Nose".  I amost can't 
resist!

To me, 'sense' (Italian 'senzo') is _MASCULINE_ so  the subject header, as it 
now stands, is ungrammatical. It's "sense and HIS  sums".

_Cleopatra's Nose_ is the title of a book that Popper must have  read on 
'predictability and history' by this London-based conservative  historian.
