 Irene -

Your unlimited knowledge of everything -- including the Middle East and Israel -- always stuns me.

A.A. You're easily stunned.

That the Palestinians were thrown out is as questionable as your pseudonym.

A.A.  So you're saying the Palestinians offered to give up their homeland to the Israelis?

Israel was attacked full-bore in 1948 and before and after. You may not realize this, but there's not a single Jew in any of those other friendly Arab states either. I wonder why. I'd have a problem if I landed as a tourist in Saudi Arabia, Jordan or Lebanon while you wouldn't -- except that you're female. This is a world that's not very accepting. Israel isn't accepted. Period.

A.A. Hey, if you were thrown out of your house, sorry, walked out so that someone else could live in it while you lived in the street, I suspect you wouldn't be very accepting either.  The Arabs and Jews historically got along just fine until Israel threw the Arabs out.

While Israel is no angel, (they learned from the Holocaust to be more aggressive if they want to survive),

A.A.  In other words, if X hurts Y, Y should attack N.  That's not aggressive.  That's dysfunctional and stupid.

it takes aggression to survive in that neighborhood.

A.A.  Correct.  If X hurts Y and Y attacks N, then aggression is indeed called for.  Lots of it, like decades going into centuries.

Still your portrait of Israel is distorted. It's just too monochromatic, too black and white. Israel's the bad guy and the Palestinians -- the poor Palestinians -- are the good guys

A.A. The Palestinians are the homeless guys, homeless because the Germans killed the Jews.

in this melodrama, this soap opera of yours. It's not true -- soap operas never are -- and I'm sick and tired of hearing this story.

A.A. I can't blame you.  Defending the indefensible does get tiresome.

I can find things to criticize Israel about too, but not the way you do, filled with lies and misrepresentations.

A.A. Stan, you never ever criticize Israel.  Not only do you not criticize, you call anyone who does a liar.  The fact is, Israel harmed an innocent population.  The Israelis behaved no better than the Germans.
